AI Course Development

In 2024, I began exploring how AI can strengthen learning development. I focus on what AI does best: accelerating labor-intensive work, allowing instructional design time to remain centered on strategy, quality, and learner outcomes. My approach is balanced: AI supports rapid early prototyping, and I refine, edit, and validate those drafts into polished final deliverables. I then focus on documenting these processes so other IDs within my organization can follow in my footsteps and scale production of learning modules throughout the organization.

Course development

Designed 4-hour asynchronous refresher courses to complement instructor-led training of professional government workers, providing these learners with on-demand, targeted practice that they can revisit after class. Leveraged AI to accelerate content drafting and activity design, then refined the experience to reinforce the exact skills taught in the ILT and support efficient, self-paced review. Afterwards, documented the process of using AI so a team of instructional designers could implement my process and develop these review courses for our entire curriculum.

video production

Produced short, practical skills-focused videos using AI-assisted scriptwriting, voiceover, and storyboarding to speed development while keeping a consistent instructional tone. Added manually recorded screen video captures to demonstrate real application workflows step-by-step, ensuring learners see the processes exactly as they’ll perform them.

assessment writing

Created objective-aligned assessments using AI to generate initial item drafts, then partnered with SMEs to validate accuracy and relevance. Finalized questions to ensure they directly measure the learning objectives and appropriately check the targeted practical application skills.
